At Sunbury we have chosen to incorporate the Jigsaw Maths
Program for Year Level 4 - 7. The reason we have chosen a unified program is
to ensure common language and approaches to teaching numeracy are used.
The new Queensland Maths Syllabus there is a strong emphasis on mental
computation, problem-solving and articulation of student thoughts. We believe
this approach best suits the needs of our students. Upon enrolment each
student in Years 4-7 will receive an Activity Book and Checkbook.

The overriding philosophy of Jigsaw
Maths is for children to experience success and enjoyment in working with
mathematics.
Jigsaw Maths is a complete program for
the new outcomes based Queensland Maths Syllabus. The Jigsaw Maths
program introduces core content, develops problem solving strategies and
provides for student assessment in a teaching and learning package that
encourages active involvement, builds confidence and promotes success.
