Our school has adopted many practices to assist children
to learn about healthy lifestyle choices. We have a strong focus on both
healthy eating and increasing student involvement in physical activity.
Healthy eating:
- Students are expected to bring along fresh fruit or
vegetables for the daily morning fruit break.
- Students are encouraged to have water breaks
regularly.
- Students are expected to eat the healthiest items in
their lunch boxes at first break.
- We request that parents always pack sandwiches,
rolls, and bread type roll ups for their children, whilst minimising unhealthy
snack foods.
- We regularly include information in our newsletter
about healthy food choices.
- Our tuckshop has a completely healthy menu and offers
specials one day per week.
Physical activity:

- Daily physical activity, such as such as the Run
Around Australia sees all students in years four to seven pitapatting in
running around the oval, tallying the combined distance travelled and then
mapping their "journey" around Australia.
- Gross motor programs for our junior primary students.
- Student access to play equipment facilitating
physical play.
- Well developed play areas including three adventure
playground, a sand pit, gravel pit and vast oval spaces.
- A supportive P&C who have just facilitated the
purchase of sports equipment and also class activity packs.
