All Education Queensland schools have access to a Guidance Officer service.  At our school we are generally allocated one day per week of Guidance Officer time.  Our school predominantly uses this service for student assessments.  Students must be referred to to the Guidance Officer using the specified forms which must be signed by parents.  The school's special needs committee works collaboratively to prioritise student needs.  Our school always has a waiting list and sometimes it may take six months before a student may be seen.
